Spring Cleaning sounds great doesn’t it? Taking the time to make sure your home is clean and ready to handle the summer heat can become overwhelming if not handled properly. With spring schedules and summer fun to be had, most of us do not want to be tied up with the dirtier side of maintenance. Luckily we have AC technicians that do that for us!
Recently one of our techs had to throw away his service clothes because of working on a unit that had mice infestations and feces in an overflowing drain pan. It was a very nasty job, but that is why we are here, to help the home owner keep their units clean and maintained properly. By implementing the tips and timelines listed below, you can keep the air in your home cleaner and healthier.
Some of the problems they run up against are pet dander, rodent infestations, and years of built up dirt and lint in duct, drain pans, and vents. In order to prevent these unsightly and smelly problems, make sure you have your attic and duct work checked by professionals.
It’s as EASY as 1-2-3!
- Once a year get your dryer vents cleaned. Dryer vent maintenance is an inexpensive way to prevent allergens and fires in your home, keeping your clothes drying correctly and keeping your peace of mind.
- Twice a year have a professional HVAC service tech come out and see what the condition of your A/C and filtration system is. Preventive measures go a long way with keeping your unit lasting longer.
- Every 3 years get your duct work checked to see if it needs cleaned or replaced especially if you have had infestations in your home. Most duct work needs to be cleaned every 8-10 years. There are several exceptions to this rule such as unwelcome visitors (rodents, insects, etc.) Rodents can chew through duct work and leave your units in unsavory condition, leaving the unit running improperly costing you more money in utility bills.Don’t take your clean air for granted. By following a scheduled maintenance program you will be ahead of the game in keeping your air clean, fresh, and inviting for your family.
